Letterpress Printing
Letterpress printing is an increasingly popular form of relief printing in which the raised surface of a material such as a plate is inked and then pressed into paper or other receptive material to obtain a positive image. The ability to produce a deep impressed print, made possible by the combination of high pressure antique presses and modern photopolymer plates, allows for creating exquisite wedding cards and stationery products with a distinct, tactile quality unsurpassed by other print methods: the words on paper are felt, as well as read.
Our select cotton-based papers by Crane and Strathmore are a perfect match for our letterpress printing. Together, they harmoniously create a bold yet elegant print product that will stand up to and complement any of our engraved invitations. Our recommended cardstock for letterpress printed cards and inserts is the Strathmore 130lb, available in bright white or natural white/ecru. For thicker inserts with deeper imprint marks, the Crane Lettra 179lbcardstock is recommended. Please contact us for other paper options.
Digital (Flat) Printing
Digital flat printing uses a digital file image to control the transfer of ink to the paper as opposed to using printing plates or films. It is the most modern printing process. Because there is less setup and fewer steps involved, digital printing is quicker and less expensive than other printing methods.
For our digital printed cards and invitation accessories we are currently using 70lb textured linen or smooth paper in bright white or natural white colors. Please contact us for other paper options.
Our printed invitation set pieces (both digital and letterpress) are available on bright white or natural white paper/cardstock.
Wood Grain
Exclusive range of pocket folds made using genuine Gmund Wood Grain 111lb card stock with wood grain embossed finish on the outside. The inside of the wood grain pocket folds are the same color color as the outside but in a smooth non textured finish.
Metallic
Stunning metallic pocket folds made by Gruppo Cordenons of Italy. These pocket folds have a metallic finish on all sides and include an angled pocket to snugly hold the engraved invitation, an RSVP card and response envelope.
Below are 40 of our favorite letterpress ink colors to choose from. If you’d like to use a color not shown below, let us know and we’ll be happy to custom mix it for you. Please keep in mind that colors may appear slightly different depending on the way your monitor is calibrated. Also, due to the nature of letterpress, slight variations in ink color are to be expected.
